Contact Information
Welcome to the contact page for the Serial Killer Database (SKdb). Here you can find information on how to apply for different roles and who to contact for various issues.
User Roles
Bureaucrats
Bureaucrats can perform all the actions that Administrators can, but they also have the additional ability to promote users to Administrators and other roles, as well as demote them. This makes them a step above Administrators in terms of user rights and responsibilities.

Administrators (Admins/Sysop)
Administrators (admins/sysops) are users with the Content Moderator and Thread Moderator tools, as well as the ability to edit MediaWiki pages (such as the wiki's CSS), change the wiki's design, block users, and enable/disable certain features, such as blogs.

Moderators
Content Moderators
Content Moderators are users with extra tools related to wiki editing, including locking pages, rolling back edits, and deleting pages. These are longtime editors who have shown care for the wiki and are trusted by the community to maintain its content.

User/Editor
Editors without extended user rights typically won't have any profile tags. Editors use a Fandom account to edit and comment, but will not be able to perform certain wiki tasks. Users are the lifeblood of the Database!

Bot
Bot accounts are used by users with external tools, such as AutoWikiBrowser, to make mass changes to the wiki. Bot accounts are flagged with the "bot" tag, preventing their changes from showing up in Recent Changes, and typically perform basic maintenance edits across multiple pages. A bot account should always be clearly labeled with the name of the owner's main account.
