Biography[]

Mark Goudeau, also known as the "Baseline Killer," is a convicted serial killer and rapist who terrorized the Phoenix, Arizona area in the early 2000s. Born on September 6, 1964, Goudeau's criminal activities escalated to a series of violent crimes that shocked the community.

Goudeau's criminal record began with less severe offenses, including armed robbery and kidnapping. However, he gained notoriety for a series of sexual assaults and murders that occurred between 2005 and 2006. The victims, primarily women, were attacked in various locations, including their homes, and the crimes became increasingly brutal.

The moniker "Baseline Killer" stemmed from the fact that many of the crimes occurred near Baseline Road in Phoenix. Goudeau's modus operandi involved abducting, sexually assaulting, and murdering his victims. The attacks instilled fear in the community, prompting a large-scale investigation by law enforcement.

In September 2006, Mark Goudeau was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including sexual assault, kidnapping, and murder. His trial began in 2011, and he faced 72 charges related to the attacks. The prosecution presented a case built on forensic evidence, eyewitness testimonies, and patterns linking Goudeau to the crimes.

In September 2011, Goudeau was convicted on 19 counts, including multiple counts of first-degree murder, and was subsequently sentenced to death. "The Baseline Killer" case highlighted the importance of community awareness and collaboration in solving heinous crimes.
