Early life[]
Douglas Daniel Clark was born on March 10, 1948, in Pennsylvania, USA. Little is known about his early life, but he would later gain notoriety for a series of heinous crimes that terrorized Los Angeles in the 1980s.
Criminal Activities[]
Doug Clark, along with his accomplice Carol M. Bundy, embarked on a killing spree during the early 1980s. Their crimes centered around the Sunset Strip area in Los Angeles. Clark, referred to as the "Sunset Strip Killer," targeted young women, often prostitutes or those involved in the sex industry.
The exact number of victims attributed to Clark is uncertain, but estimates suggest it could be as high as six. The duo would lure women, commit sexual assaults, and ultimately murder them.
Arrest and Trial[]
On August 12, 1980, Clark was arrested after the discovery of a victim's body in his van, which linked him to the crimes. Carol Bundy, who had initially been a willing participant, later cooperated with the authorities, providing crucial evidence against Clark.
Doug Clark's trial began in 1983. He was convicted on multiple counts of murder and sexual assault. Bundy, who testified against him, received a lighter sentence in exchange for her cooperation.
Imprisonment[]
Doug Clark was sentenced to death for his crimes. He spent years on death row, exhausting legal appeals. He died of unspecified natural causes at a medical facility on October 11, 2023, at the age of 75.[1]
