According to Patrick, he had a normal childhood with no abuse and had a regular experience at school. He was sentenced to prison in the mid 1990s and in 2001 he became a suspect in the three cold case murders and was matched to the killings via DNA. He maintains his innocence in the killings.

1988 c. 20 Patricia England is found murdered. Patrick also claimed to have been intimate with her but denies the killing. Greenburgh, N.Y.
1990 c. 22 Lisa Gibbens is found shot and robbed, there is questions as to if Patrick actually committed this killing. Tuckahoe, N.Y.
2000 c. 32 Patrick is connected to the murders. New York
