Biography[]

Charles Frederick Albright, born on August 10, 1933, in Amarillo, Texas, gained notoriety as the "Eyeball Killer." Despite his seemingly ordinary life, Albright's criminal activities shocked the public.

Albright's early life appeared unremarkable. He grew up in a middle-class family and showed an early interest in art. However, as he matured, disturbing tendencies emerged. Albright began frequenting prostitutes, engaging in violent behavior, and exhibiting signs of a troubled psyche.

His criminal activities escalated in the 1980s. In 1991, he was arrested for the murders of three women: Mary Lou Pratt, Shirley Williams, and Susan Peterson. The distinctive hallmark of these crimes was the removal of the victims' eyeballs. Albright received a life sentence in 1994 for the murder of Shirley Williams, while the cases involving the other two women were dropped due to lack of evidence.

Albright's peculiar obsession with eyes and the gruesome nature of his crimes drew widespread media attention and the press dubbed him the "Eyeball Killer".

While imprisoned, Albright maintained his innocence, suggesting that he was a scapegoat for the murders. Despite his claims, the evidence presented during the trial, including forensic analysis and witness testimonies, pointed to his guilt.

Charles Albright was sentenced to life without parole, and he died at the West Texas Regional Medical Facility in Lubbock, Texas, on August 22, 2020.
